In December, Joe Jackson subpoenaed medical and other records from the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center where Michael was pronounced dead on June 25, stating he believed the records could reveal evidence of foul play in Michael’s death.
Michael’s estate lawyer, Howard Weitzman, sent a letter to Brian Oxman, Joe’s lawyer, calling the subpoenas “clearly improper”, stating that not only do they violate Michael’s privacy but also bear no relation to Joe’s actual claim.
A closer look at Weitzman’s letter reveals that Joe’s real motive for the subpoenas is financial support from his son’s estate:
