As prosecutors today announced involuntary manslaughter charges against Dr Conrad Murray, the Los Angeles coroner simultaneously released its final report on Michael’s death. The coroner’s report is 51 pages long, and concludes that “the immediate cause” of Michael’s death was listed by the medical examiner as “Acute propofol intoxication.”
The L.A. District Attorney’s Office charged today that Dr. Conrad Murray “did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson,” to whom Murray, 56, allegedly improperly administered propofol.

The cause of death is acute propfol intoxication. A contributory factor in the death is bensodiazepine effect.
The manner of death is homicide, based on the following:
1. Circumstances indicate that propofol and the benzodiazepines were administered by another.
2. The propofol was administered in a non-hospital setting without any appropriate medical indication.
3. The standard of care for administering propofol was not met (see anesthesiology consultation p. 30). Recommended equipment for patient monitoring, precision dosing, and resuscitation was not present.
4. The circumstances do not support self-administration of propofol.
