As the investigation progresses and the authorities close in on the chain of events that led to Michael’s death, Dr Conrad Murray, the man at the centre of the investigation into Michael’s death, was charged with involuntary manslaughter on February 8, 2010.
Murray pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on $75,000 bail. The judge told him he was allowed to keep practicing medicine but was not allowed to sedate anyone.
So far, the investigation has revealed holes in both Murray’s statements and in the timeline surrounding Michael’s death.
The question everyone is now asking is: is Dr Conrad Murray covering up evidence and lying about what really happened?
Police are now saying that Murray, after administering that final dose of the powerful sedative Propofol to Michael, most likely left him alone for approximately 73 minutes, and not the two minutes he has claimed.
Let’s have a look at what we know about the timeline:
10.50am: Murray administers Propofol to Michael, then leaves him alone to go to the bathroom.
At some point, Murray returns to Michael’s room and finds him not breathing. He begins CPR. Murray claims he left Michael alone for 2 minutes.
11:54am: Murray leaves a voicemail for another patient, Bob Russell. In the voicemail, Murray sounds calm and collected.
12.00pm: It has been reported that Murray made another call, this time to his girlfriend in Houston shortly after noon, but this call has not been confirmed as yet.
12:21pm: Murray calls 911
Given the discrepancies in the timeline, it is now being said that Dr. Conrad Murray may have hidden and tried to cover up the means by which Michael died.
Let’s have a look at what is said to have happened:
Michael received his final, fatal dose of Propofol through an IV in his leg, and Murray told police he only administered 2.5ml, which is a very small amount.
But Dr. John Dombrowski, a noted anesthesiologist who reviewed the LAPD file for detectives, has stated that 2.5ml would not be enough to even put someone to sleep, let alone kill them.
The autopsy report, however, notes the level of Propofol found in Michael was equivalent to what is found in “general anesthesia for major surgery.”
A small, empty, 20 ml bottle of Propofol was found in the bedroom, but a secret compartment was found in a nearby closet which contained numerous bottles of Propofol.
Amongst them, a large, empty, 100ml bottle with a large tear in the rubber stopper was found. A tear in the stopper is made in order to connect an entire bottle of Propofol to an IV.
If this is done, the doctor must use an infusion pump to regulate the flow of Propofol, in order to prevent the patient from overdosing. There was no infusion pump found.
The police believe Dr. Murray may have used the 100ml bottle, then either tried regulating the flow either by just watching it, or letting it flow by itself.
Either way, Dr. Murray admitted to leaving Michael unattended by going to the bathroom at some point.
If Dr. Murray did [...]

Jack Gordon is best known as LaToya Jackson’s infamous ex-manger/husband. She later accused him of mental control and physical abuse during the 11 years they were together. Gordon died in 2005, aged 65. LaToya even sent a security expert to his burial to confirm his death, as she knew that he had faked his death before. Who was Jack Gordon, and what role did he play in the Jackson family saga? Let’s first take a look at his earlier life.
Jack Gordon was born in Springfield, Illinois on November 10, 1939. His father was Abraham Gordon, a Russian immigrant, and his mother was Faye Stein, an Illinois native of Jewish heritage. What of Gordon’s formative years? Not much is publicly known, so we have to fast-forward to the 70’s when he is already in his 30’s. At this time, he ran an arcade business at the Circus Circus in Las Vegas. Later, he became the owner of two massage parlors in California. In the late 70’s, it was reported that two of his partners from Las Vegas had been murdered and that he was the prime suspect.
In 1979, Gordon ran into trouble with the law once again. The previous year, he’d offered Harry Reid, then-chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission, $12,000 to approve two new gaming machines for casino use. Gordon believed the new games would make him more than $100 million in profit. Reid notified the FBI and agents videotaped a meeting with Gordon in his office. At the point where Reid asked, “Is this the money?” FBI agents burst into the office to arrest Gordon. He was convicted of conspiracy along with cemetery salesman Joe Daly and sentenced to six months’ jail.
Gordon’s defense attorney Richard Wright remembers visiting him in jail. As he was escorted in, the guard was exceptionally friendly, asking if Wright wanted water and ending with a courteous, “Will that be all, sir?” When he mentioned the guard’s unusual behavior to Gordon, Wright recalled, “Jack rubs his thumb against his finger, indicating he was giving him money. I went ballistic,” Wright said. “You’re telling me you’re taking care of the guards in here? Knock this shit off!”
After he served his time, Gordon visited Wright and asked for the gold jewelry he’d left in his care. Wright handed him the jewelry, Gordon unbuttoned his shirt, put on the gold and was ready to return to his old life.
Sometime in the 80’s and probably through mutual connections in Las Vegas, Jack Gordon became associated with Joe Jackson. In 1987, the relationship culminated with Jackson bringing Gordon into the family fold as co-manager of his 31 year-old daughter LaToya.
Gordon was now in his late 40’s and able to exhert much influence over LaToya, even at her age. He eventually took over as sole manager and the two were married in 1989. Under Gordon’s management, LaToya gained much publicity for herself; in 1991, she posed for Playboy. Soon after, she published “La Toya: Growing Up In The [...]

“They’re trying to kill me”

Though the media hype has died down around the controversial and mysterious death of Michael Jackson, millions of fans from around the world are still keenly interested in how, why, and who was behind it. Interestingly, if there are indeed shady figures involved-and more than a few, including family members, are convinced of this-these suspects perhaps have overlooked the fact that Michael has scores of admirers in law enforcement agencies spanning the globe. A few of Michael’s law enforcement friends, as well as amateur would-be detectives, have contacted me with what they consider to be damning evidence showing that Michael was murdered. La Toya Jackson, Michael’s older sister, shared her own thoughts on the matter with Barbara Walters in a 20/20 interview that aired September 11, 2009.
La Toya Talks & Tells: “I knew Michael was surrounded by people that positioned themselves in his life,” says La Toya, “positioned themselves to control and take advantage of him. And that’s what bothered me more than anything else because I knew something terrible would happen at the end,” she told Walters. That’s not all. La Toya comes right out and says: “Not to mention the fact that Michael constantly told me, ‘La Toya …if I die…they’re going to murder me, they’re going to kill me.’” La Toya further reveals in guarded language: “I don’t know exactly who. I think there are more players involved than we know. This is just my opinion. This is what I feel. I know what Michael was afraid of … he was afraid of his life. He would say, ‘I’m afraid of my life. I’m afraid they’re going to assassinate me. I’m afraid they’re going to kill me.’”
Declaration to Dick: Famed activist Dick Gregory called me several weeks ago and revealed that Michael Jackson told him that “they (presumably Michael’s business associates) are trying to kill me.”
When Michael Called Carr: Way back in 2004 during his trial Michael Jackson called me and said that prosecutors knew that he was innocent of child molestation charges, but pursued this strategy to wrest control of his music catalogue from him. “They’re after my Beatles’ catalogue,” he complained. “They just want my music …I would never hurt a child, and they know that.” I reassured him that I was convinced of his innocence. “I love you,” he responded. I pretended not to hear him. So, he said it again. “I love you.” I tried to change the subject by returning to my firm belief in his innocence. It didn’t work. “I love you,” he said for a third time. I finally acquiesced and said, “I love you too Michael,” to which he immediately responded most sincerely, “I love you more.”
Tormented by Tohme: Michael Jackson was none too pleased with Dr. Tohme Tohme, who is the former brother-in-law of Randy Phillips, CEO of AEG, the company that was sponsoring Michael’s tours. In a telephone conversation with and recorded by confidante [...]

An interview was aired in 1993, shortly after Michael’s interview with Oprah.
In it, Katherine, Joseph, Jermaine, Randy and Rebbie make every effort to appear supportive of Michael. However, what at first appears to be a demonstration of strong family unity, quickly unravels to reveal a family that is fragmented.
The interview reveals that Jermaine wrote a song for Michael called “Word To The Badd”, whose original lyrics are quite scathing and reflective of his frustration and not being able to communicate with his brother. Asked by the interviewer why he thinks Michael is so shy and reclusive, Jermaine asserts that he doesn’t know and puts his brother’s shyness down to perhaps being caused by his skin condition.
When the Jackson Five split from Motown and signed with CBS in 1976, Jermaine opted to remain at Motown. At the time, he was married to Hazel, Berry Gordy’s daughter and had reason to believe that he would have good career opportunities as a solo artist if he remained at his father in law’s label. Jermaine’s decision not to sign with CBS caused a rift between himself and the rest of the Jacksons, who then had to perform without him. Unfortunately for Jermaine, he did not end up having the successful solo career he’d hoped for. But the time he left Motown, Michael had embarked on his own successful solo career and no longer wanted to be part of the Jackson Five.
These days, Jermaine acts as the spokesperson for the family.
Rebbie, the eldest child of the Jackson family, left the family home in 1968 when she was 18 to marry her childhood sweetheart Nathaniel Brown. Her decision to leave the family home and marry caused a division in the Jackson family. Joseph was against the marriage because he wanted Rebbie to follow in the footsteps of her brothers and become a singer. He felt that married life would stop her from becoming a success in the entertainment business. Though Rebbie had performed on stage with her siblings during shows in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in 1974, before subsequently appearing in the television series The Jacksons, she had no real interest in a career in showbusiness. Joseph eventually relented and agreed to her marriage but refused to walk her down the aisle.
Rebbie is a devout Jehova’s Witness. In the interview, she expresses her distaste for Michael’s crotch grabbing on stage. When pressed by the interviewer, she reveals that the family hasn’t gotten together in a long time and that she personally hasn’t seen Michael in a year.
Janet, the youngest of the Jackson clan, went on to have her own very successful career as a solo artist. She gained respect from her peers in the music industry and appeared on stage with Michael on various occasions. She does not appear in this interview and has not spoken publicly since Michael’s death.
LaToya, the most controversial and perhaps the most vocal of all the Jackson siblings, ran away from Hayvenhurst, [...]

From the time he made his fortune in the 80’s, Michael’s finances have been the source of many rumors and much speculation. He purchased the most lucrative music catalog in the world, weathered damaging allegations against his character, openly criticised his record company, shouldered countless loans and law suits, and was heavily criticised himself for his lavish spending. In order to gain a better understanding of Michael’s life, we have compiled a timeline detailing his changing fortunes.
1975:
The Jackson 5 leave Motown and join CBS Records, which offers them much better contracts, plus guaranteed fees of at least $350,000 per album. Michael also gains some income from concerts, but this is still income that he shares with his brothers and which is managed by his father.
1982:
In a move towards creative and financial independence, Michael breaks away from his father and the Jackson 5 and collaborates with Quincy Jones on 3 albums. The first one is “Thriller”, which eventually racks up sales of 51 million copies globally, making it the best-selling album in history. Michael’s pre-expense profit of sales of the album surpasses $125 million. Those close to him in the “Thriller” era, credit Michael with financial acumen and astute business judgment.
1985:
Michael purchases ATV Music, which owns the copyright to songs written by the Beatles’ John Lennon and Paul McCartney, for $47.5 million. Michael is at the peak of his fame, and still lives in “Hayvenhurst”, the Jackson family home in Encino. Owning the ATV music catalog earns Michael a steady stream of royalties every time one of the songs is either played on the radio or performed.
1987:
Michael nets around $35 million from a year-long “Bad” tour. Heading into the 1990’s, Michael is believed to be in sound shape financially.
1988:
Michael makes his $17 million purchase of a property near Santa Ynez, California. This property soon becomes “Neverland”.
1991:
Michael signs a $65m recording deal with Sony. He releases “Dangerous” and retreats from working regularly.
1993:
Michael settles a child-molestation lawsuit for an undisclosed amount, said to be in the region of $20 million.
1995:
Michael is forced to sell Sony a 50 percent stake in the ATV catalog for more than $100 million, in order to help shore up his now-wobbling accounts. He releases HIStory; shoots a “teaser” video in Hungary for millions of dollars. Dan Beck, a senior marketing executive who worked on the video, says of Michael at this time, “He dreamed the big dream. It was P. T. Barnum.”
1996:
Michael meets Myung Ho Lee, a Korean adviser.
1997:
Michael embarks on a 35-minute film called “Ghosts” that he co-wrote with Stephen King and shot with Stan Winston, a special-effects whiz. The film cost that cost well above $15 million. At this time, Michael is believed to have paid a substantial portion of as much as $65 million on video projects.
1998:
Michael has already taken out and depleted a $90 million bank loan and Lee arranges a new, $140 million loan from the Bank of America that was collateralized by the ATV catalog and used to pay [...]

From 1990 through 2003, The Mirage Casino in Las Vegas was the venue for the Siegfried & Roy show. In the early 90’s, Michael spent time at the Mirage as a guest of Steve Wynn’s, the hotel’s owner.
Through this connection to the Mirage, Michael and Siegfried & Roy became friends. He wrote the act’s theme song, “Mind is the Magic”.
We found this on The Siegfried & Roy site:
Siegfried & Roy’s Protégé Romeo, Rare Snow-White Siberian Tiger Bring Michael Jackson To Las Vegas

Siegfried & Roy’s longtime friend Michael Jackson surprised the Magicians of the Century when he flew to Las Vegas to meet their rarest of the rare Snow-White male Siberian White Tiger, Apollo, and see their protégé, the “Voice of Magic” Darren Romeo, presented matinees at The Mirage by Siegfried & Roy.
Jackson, who penned Siegfried & Roy’s theme song, was raving to the entertainers about the experience of feeding Apollo and having the opportunity to see the Romeo’s unique combination of magic and music. “This is what I always wanted to capture in my shows,” said Jackson. “Music and magic is a fantastic combination; the three of you may have to develop some magic for my songs when I stage my next concert.” After meeting Apollo and seeing Romeo’s show, could there be a song coming for both from the King of Pop? Siegfried & Roy and Romeo sure hope so!

Michael may not have been an overt supporter of any political party, but he was certainly a very popular celebrity for politics to align itself with. Here, jwilkes takes a look at Wahington D.C’s love affair with Michael Jackson.
By jwilkes | eyesonobama | June 26th, 2009

Michael Jackson, who died June 25 at his California home, was never a very political man. But that never kept Washington, D.C. from paying homage to the King of Pop.
Despite never being overtly political himself (online databases show no sign that Jackson ever donated to a particular political party in recent years, nor did he publicly endorse any particular presidential candidate), Jackson was often the recipient of invitations to Capitol Hill, often to receive awards bestowed upon him for his contribution to American pop culture, as well as his various philanthropic efforts.
In 1984, he was invited to the White House by President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan to recognize the star for his work to help those struggling with addiction to drugs and alcohol. He was called back by Reagan’s successor, President George H.W. Bush, who crowned him “Artist of the Decade” in 1990. President Bill Clinton tapped Jackson to perform at his second inaugural ball, and appeared with the pop icon on several other occasions as well. President Jimmy Carter also had an opportunity to meet Jackson, albeit after he left the White House.

In 2004, Jackson met privately with leaders in the Congressional Black Caucus to champion aid to Africa, particularly assistance aimed at stemming the spread of HIV. He later appeared at a press conference with Representatives Bobby Rush, Jesse Jackson, Jr., and Sheila Jackson Lee.
In May of 2008, Congress selected Jackson’s chart-topping and now-legendary 1983 album, “Thriller,” for inclusion in the Library of Congress.

Thus far, Democratic Rep. Chaka Fattah of Pennsylvania has been the only federally elected official to release a statement on Jackon’s passing:
“Michael Jackson, throughout his life, has loomed as a transformative figure in American popular music and showmanship. He was a ‘Thriller’ of tens of millions of fans worldwide. His albums set sales records and his songs are recognizable across many generations. Often imitated, his phenomenal talent could never be duplicated. Our prayers go out his family, to those who cared about him, those who sang his songs, those who danced to his music and those who respected his gift. He will be missed.”

There have been some wondering whether a similar statement may come from the White House in the near future. Thus far, President Obama has yet to address Jackson’s death, as Bill Clinton did following the death of Frank Sinatra and Jimmy Carter for the passing of music’s other King, Elvis Presley.
Jackson’s often odd behavior- as well as several accusations (and a subsequent acquittal on formal charges) of child molestation, have made Jackson’s trips to Capitol Hill more scarce in recent years. However, his respect among the general public is likely to [...]

An ex-private investigator working in Las Vegas in the 90’s, was an insider in a plot to discredit Michael Jackson. Here he reveals exclusively to mjfiles how the conspiracy against Michael Jackson began:
“Michael Jackson was a guest of Steve Wynn, at His Mirage Casino, in Las Vegas, on several occasions. This was around the same time LaToya was on stage in Paris, with the Moulin Rouge. I was working part time for a Las Vegas private detective, and commuting to Los Angeles, to work on films.
The investigator I worked for had someone at the Mirage Casino, to call when Michael was visiting, or if he and his driver/bodyguard was going out at night. I thought at the time, that the Boss wanted to get into some paparazzi action, because it was not a case the agency was working on.
My teacher and chief investigator [at the agency], told me some of the information he was getting on Michael Jackson. At that time, he thought it was very funny. Michael would be driven around parking lots, and thru fast food places, and his guy would jump out and run into stores while Michael would stay in the car. MJ was cruising the parking lot for these reasons; celebs have a hard time just looking around, I have driven several around parking lots myself, just to get a malt and look at the lights, but MJ was being driven around the area known as the ‘Fruit Loop’, and in the parking lot of the Gypsy Bar (the oldest gay club in Las Vegas). He also was at the Glass Pool, this is an Icon of a motel, in the fashion world (lots of still shoots).
On July the 11th [1993], I got the call to come over to The Bosses house to have a drink, and that is when I was told about working a case to discredit Michael Jackson. And be around for the first calls. It was then clear to see this was in the planning stages for some time. My teacher and Chief investigator, knew I grew up in LA, and had worked all over the town, plus he wanted super good video, on this case. This was the day the office got the first calls about Michael and Jordan. June S. [Schwartz] was in a panic over what she had just seen, (that day or the day before ?) and it is my understanding that it was part of the settlement, to never repeat it.
[That same month] My Boss said,’hey would you like to go to Beverly Hills and go to Melvin Belli’s 86th birthday party’ I said yes, very fast. Melvin Belli was the Bosses ‘Gumba’ [friend] and I knew it would be some bash. I was at Melvin’s birthday party around July the 28th in Beverly Hills, and at that party this was said by someone that was (PI) that I thought was on MJ’s side, ‘they are going to [...]

We found this article on a website that no longer exists. We thought we’d post it here as it offers an interesting overview of Michael’s financial situation through the years:
Michael Jackson the singer was also Michael Jackson the billion-dollar business.
Yet after selling more than 61 million albums in the US and having a decade-long attraction open at Disney theme parks, the King of Pop died Thursday at age 50 reportedly awash in about $400 million in debt, on the cusp of a final comeback after well over a decade of scandal.
Michael Jackson died at the UCLA Medical Center after being stricken at his rented home in Holmby Hills. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital, where doctors continued to work on him.
“It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known,” his brother Jermaine said. Police said they were investigating, standard procedure in high-profile cases.
The moonwalking pop star drove the growth of music videos, vaulting cable channel MTV into the popular mainstream after its launch in 1981. His 1982 hit “Thriller,” still the second best-selling U.S. album of all time, spawned a John Landis-directed music video that MTV played every hour on the hour.
“The ratings were three or four times what they were normally every time the video came on,” said Judy McGrath, the chairman and CEO of Viacom Inc.’s MTV Networks. “He was inextricably tied to the so-called MTV generation.”
Five years later, “Bad” sold 22 million copies. In 1991, he signed a $65 million recording deal with Sony.
Jackson was so popular that The Walt Disney Co. hitched its wagon to his star in 1986, opening a 3-D movie at its parks called “Captain EO,” executive produced by George Lucas and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The last attraction in Paris closed 12 years later.
One of Jackson’s shrewdest deals at the height of his fame in 1985 was the $47.5 million acquisition of ATV Music, which owned the copyright to songs written by the Beatles’ John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The catalog provided Jackson a steady stream of income and the ability to afford a lavish lifestyle.
He bought the sprawling Neverland ranch in 1988 for $14.6 million, a fantasy-like 2,500-acre property nestled in the hills of Santa Barbara County’s wine country.
But the bombshell hit in 1993 when he was accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy.
“That kind of represents the beginning of the walk down a tragic path, financially, emotionally, spiritually, psychologically, legally,” said Michael Levine, his publicist at the time.
He settled with the boy’s family, but other accounts of his alleged pedophilia began to emerge.
When he ran into further financial problems, he agreed to a deal with Sony in 1995 to merge ATV with Sony’s library of songs and sold Sony music publishing rights for $95 million. Then in 2001, he used his half of the ATV [...]

www.people.com Vol. 39 No. 17 | May 03, 1993
Triumph in the spotlight is a Jackson family tradition. But it is more often scandal that thrusts LaToya, the brood’s odd sister out, into the public eye. Now the rebel who posed nude in Playboy, married her ex-con manager and exposed family secrets in a tell-all best-seller, has sadly turned victim.
Police, summoned on April 20 to the plush two-bedroom Manhattan apartment that the singer, 36, shares with husband Jack Gordon, 54, arrested Gordon for allegedly kicking LaToya and beating her with a heavy brass dining-room chair. Treated for bruises to her face, arms, legs and back, LaToya, according to friend and New York Post writer Florence Anthony, seemed badly shaken by the violence that flared during a midnight argument. “Unfortunately,” says Anthony, who visited LaToya after her hospital discharge next morning, “she was more concerned about Jack having to go to jail than anything else.”
Ironically, Jackson once said that she married Gordon in 1989 to escape her father, Joseph, whom she claimed abused her from age 6. “Until meeting Mr. Gordon,” she said in 1991, “I’d assumed that, with the exception of my brothers, all men were evil like my father.” Joe Jackson has repeatedly denied her charges.
As for Gordon, the onetime massage parlor owner was convicted of attempting in 1978 to bribe former Nevada Gaming Commission Chairman Harry Reid, now a U.S. senator. In 1985, a year after he was arrested for pandering, Gordon began managing LaToya’s career. The couple’s marriage, she insisted, was strictly a business arrangement. “Of course there is no romance,” she once said of Gordon, who pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree assault and was released without bail after a night in jail. “Look at him. He’s old enough to be my father.”
