In 1993, Michael performed during halftime at the Super Bowl XXVII. This is one of Michael’s most acclaimed performances; it resulted in his Dangerous album rising 90 places up the album chart. Dressed in a gold and black military outfit and sunglasses, he remained completely motionless for minutes while the crowd cheered. This was the first Super Bowl where the audience figures increased during the half-time show, and was viewed by 135 million Americans alone.
